From blank document to finished chapter.
Every scene is automatically refined — until language, consistency, and memory are right. Here's what happens under the hood.
Write
The first draft takes shape.
Based on your scene instructions, worldbuilding, and the entire memory of your novel so far, a first draft is created. No generic output — but text that knows what happened in chapter 1, even when you're writing chapter 40.
Refine & Check
Consistency, style, and rhythm — together.
The draft is checked against your inventory (characters, locations, timelines) and refined for style, tone, and rhythm. Inconsistencies are fixed as minimally as possible — your style is preserved. SYMBAN verifies; it doesn't just hope.
Remember
Everything new flows back into memory.
After each finished scene, SYMBAN extracts new facts, encounters, and state changes. These are written into long-term memory — so the next scene works with up-to-date information.

What else happens under the hood.
Beyond the main phases, additional mechanisms ensure consistency and quality. For a closer look, read how SYMBAN refines every scene.
Cross-Volume Memory
Each volume automatically receives a compressed summary. Later volumes know the key scenes from earlier ones — without you having to maintain them manually.
Duplicate Detection
The system detects when a scene repeats content that already appeared in earlier chapters — and warns you before the text is finalized.
Consistency-Driven Revision
When inconsistencies are found during the consistency check, SYMBAN revises the scene to resolve them while preserving your style. If something cannot be resolved, the scene is flagged with warnings so you can decide.
Scene Logbook
Every produced scene is logged with metadata: Which characters were involved? Which locations? Which open plot threads were touched?
Frequently Asked Questions
How many steps does a text go through?+
Each scene runs through multiple steps: writing, consistency-checking, style and rhythm refinement, and memory update. Inconsistencies are revised automatically; anything that can't be resolved is flagged for you.
What happens if an error can't be fixed?+
If something cannot be resolved automatically, the scene is flagged with open warnings. You can manually edit it or send it through the system again.
How does memory work across multiple volumes?+
At the end of each volume, a compressed summary is automatically created. New volumes receive this as context, ensuring character-level continuity.
Can I customize the consistency checks?+
Yes. You define your own rules, style guides, and worldbuilding documents that SYMBAN checks against. The system works according to your specifications.
