About SYMBAN.
A writing workshop with a story.
How it started
During my first pregnancy, I wanted to read the Iliad. Not as a poetic work — as a story. I wanted to understand what happened between Achilles and Hector. I wanted to withdraw into the epic.
But the Iliad isn't a novel. It's poetry, hexameters, songs. Beautiful, but for someone who just wants to read a story — too much of a detour.
I would have liked to read a version that tells the mythology as a coherent novel. Chapter by chapter, characters that stay, a plot that develops. It didn't exist. So I started building one.
The first book
I produced the first volume with a script I wrote myself. It worked, but it was fragile, specific, built only for me. After my second pregnancy, I knew: the system needs to be reproducible. For me — and for everyone who has a story in their head and doesn't know how to turn it into a book.
That became SYMBAN. The series it produces is called PANATHINAIA. Thirteen volumes about Greek mythology, told as a novel.
Who SYMBAN is built for
SYMBAN isn't built for tech pros. Not for people who have already published and just want to work faster. SYMBAN is for the majority: people with a story in their head who don't know how to write 80,000 words.
Those are the people I want to reach. People who have started many books and given up on page 50. People who think they are not writers — even though they are exactly what makes a writer: someone with a story.
You don't need to know how to write. You need to have the story.
What SYMBAN is
Technically, SYMBAN is a writing workshop. You describe your story once, and SYMBAN builds it chapter by chapter — remembering everything as it goes. Who has which eye color. What happened in chapter 3. Which rules apply in your world. Even in chapter 47. Even in volume 5.
The books you find in our bookstore were all created here.
Why SYMBAN
SYMBAN is the Greek word for universe. Σύμπαν — from syn (together) and pan (everything). Literally: everything together.
The name is not a marketing decision. It describes what I believe: every person is a universe. Every story that takes shape in a mind is already real — it only waits to be written down.
SYMBAN is the place where these small universes come together.
